of you who are skydiving for the first time—will thoroughly
relish the thrill of a Tandem Skydive!
Tandem jumping allows first time jumpers to experience the
thrill and excitement of the sport without the preparation and
knowledge required for a solo jump. It only takes 30 minutes of
training after which you will freefall from 10,500 - 18,000 feet
harnessed to a highly skilled U.S.P.A. (United States Parachute
Association) jumpmaster.
The Tandem Jump
$199 buys a tandem jump from 10,500 feet,
with 40 seconds of free fall;
$218 buys a tandem jump from 13,000 feet, with 60 seconds of
free fall; or
$319 buys a tandem jump from 18,000 feet, with 90 seconds of
free fall.
On
the plane ride to altitude, check out Santa Barbara, Point
Conception and Vandenberg Air Force Base.
At a safe altitude, the jumpmaster will pull the rip chord.
On your level 2 Tandem jump, you will pull the ripcord yourself.
While having fun under your high tech ram air canopy, take in
the views of the Pacific Ocean. Don’t worry, it's too far to
reach by parachute! The tranquil six-minute ride under canopy
will allow plenty of time to practice landing techniques in
preparation for a smooth, soft landing. After your jump you will
presented with a "First Jump Certificate".

We require reservations 1-2 weeks in advance with a $ 50
deposit. (Deposits may be
paid by check as long as we receive it one week prior to your
skydive.)
We are open every day of the week; weekends
being the busiest so call ahead for the best jump times.

Safety is our #1 Concern!
You must be 18+. Special restrictions apply for
persons weighing more than 200 pounds. Please telephone for
details.

The
Day of Your Jump
You
will want to wear loose, comfortable clothing. Blue jeans or
shorts are acceptable, no flipflop sandals. It is advisable to
eat 2-3 hours before your skydive. Do not drink any alcohol
before your jump as this will disqualify you from skydiving.

student completes a C.O.A., and 3 P.P.T's. After this,

P.P.T.'s, forward movement, and a turn left or right. A

completes one P.P.T. and toe taps. The student is then
released and holds a heading for the remainder of the dive

checks in with instructor, then is released to perform a
turn and forward movement towards the instructor. All

After completing a left or right turn, the student moves
forward and docks with the instructor.

(This is a diving maneuver that looses altitude and to
move away from other sky divers.)

dives from aircraft, completes a left and right turn, a
back loop, and a delta track. The next step is to acquire
the U.S.P.A. "A" License! This involves learning
to pack a chute and complete AFP level 25. This can be
completed at S.S.B.!

For levels AFP 8-25 the price ranges for each level
from $23 to $86. It depends on how much equipment you
rent and whether or not you are getting one of the
coached jumps required for your A license.

Skydive Santa Barbara we can help you get the best
price on your own equipment, or you can rent our
fine parachutes until you get your own!
