Welcome to the Santa Barbara Flight Academy, the newest face in flying in Santa Barbara. We offer an individualized experience in state of the art trainers, all of our aircraft are less than five years old and offer the latest in equipment and avionics.

From the first time Guy de Gramont flew in a small plane, he was hooked. “There is nothing like being up there,” reminisces the owner and manager of the airport’s newest addition, the Santa Barbara Flight Academy. Mr. de Gramont learned to fly in France, and has flown all over Europe, including landing at Gatwick, one of the world’s busiest airports in London, England. But despite all of his aviation experience, he still remembers the first time he soloed a plane; taking the controls, and flying by himself. It was a life changing moment.

While receiving additional training at the Palo Alto airport in the late seventies, Mr. de Gramont practiced in Cessna 172 trainers that were state of the art at the time, something that he felt was vitally important to his experience.

Sightseeing & Whale Watching.
Discover the beautiful Santa Barbara County. We will fly over the Santa Barbara Mountains, the Santa Ynez Valley, Lake Cachuma, Montecito, Santa Barbara. Discover the Reagan Ranch, the Santa Barbara Beaches, the Harbor and the City.

We offer Whale Watching Tours between the Channel Islands and Santa Barbara.

The flight last about 1 1/2 Hours and cost $240 for one, $260 for two and $280 for 3 passengers. We have a 515 Lbs total weight limit for the passengers.

Out of Town Pilots
Out of town Pilots are  welcome to fly with our instructor. Bring along your family. Please keep in mind that we are restricted to a maximum weight of 640 lbs for  Pilot, Instructor and Passengers.

Photo Shoot
For the News, Real Estate and Brochures, we can fly you anywhere for an aerial photo shoot. On request, Nik Wheeler, a professional photographer, will be happy to work with you on your projects.
