Kayaking Adventures
Let's paddle with the seals and wave to the pelicans! These trips take you
on scenic journeys to some of the most beautiful and easily accessible
areas around. For lunch we will stop at a calm beach while relaxing and
taking in the views. Tours take place along the Central Coast and San
Francisco Bay.
Baja
Multisport:
Baja California is one of the best winter and spring destinations for
kayakers. This eight day adventure includes kayaking lessons, multi-day
paddling on the Sea of Cortez, snorkeling, relaxing in tidal hot springs,
hiking, horseback riding in the local mountains, and exploring local
islands. Our trip differs from the typical Baja kayak trips that other
outfitters offer. Instead of waking up each morning and paddling another
round of miles day after day, we operate day and overnight kayak trips
from our remote and plush base camp. With your guides' combined Baja
experience totaling well over 25 years, you can be assured a wonderful and
unique adventure. Outback Adventures provides, food, kayaking equipment,
group camping gear, and accommodations (two nights hotel, five nights

Kayak
and Explore Angel Island:
Let's
pack our kayaks and take a real kayaking adventure to Angel Island in the
San Francisco Bay. While paddling the majestic Bay, take in the
spectacular views of San Francisco, Mt. Tamalpais, Mt. Diablo, and the
East Bay areas. After landing for lunch on our choice of beaches, we will
have the opportunity to hike and explore the island’s interior, historic
sites, and abundant wildlife. Designated as a State Park, Angel Island
boasts a long history of many uses. Angel Island was once a Miwok Indian
Village, a military installation site from the Civil War to the Cold War,
and termed the "Ellis Island of the West" during 1910-1940. So
join us on a this exciting kayak tour of historic Angel Island which we
call the gem of the Bay. Specifically timed for optimal and safe paddling
conditions, this trip is appropriate for beginners.

Slough:
Join Outback Adventures on a relaxing kayak tour of Elkhorn Slough.
Located between Monterey and Santa Cruz, Elkhorn Slough is a wetland
treasure. Elkhorn Slough is one of the most popular kayaking areas for
beginner paddlers and those seeking wildlife and birding opportunities. It
is home to abundant wildlife such as seals, sea otters, pelicans, egrets,
and many migratory bird species. Sightings of these animals are virtually
guaranteed. For your first paddling experience, Elkhorn Slough is hard to

Bair
Island and Corkscrew Slough:
Take an exciting tour of Bair Island Ecological Reserve and Corkscrew
Slough and experience the serenity of being surrounded by a maze of
waterways. On this kayaking tour, you will spend time exploring the many
winding channels of the slough while observing many wetland bird species.
If conditions permit, we will venture into the S.F. Bay alongside Bair
Island and stop for lunch on shell beaches. This adventure is for those
looking for a longer exploratory tour in a true slough environment.

Full Moon Kayak Tour in Marin:
Navigating your kayak by
moonlight is a mystical experience you won't soon forget. This unique
kayak tour allows for a grand view of the moon rising into the night's
sky. The atmosphere is peaceful and calming, yet spectacular. We will
paddle leisurely while admiring the moon's silvery light reflecting off

Corte Madera Salt Marsh:
Ecological Reserve
Come explore the wetlands along Corte Madera Marsh while taking in the
views of Mount Tampalpais and the San Francisco Bay. We will paddle out in
stable double sea kayaks while keeping our eyes open for the curious
harbor seals that gather nearby.

to Paddling
Are
you curious about kayaking and want to learn about this activity for
everyone? You'll find kayaking is a activity that you can take to any
level. Whether it be recreational, day touring, or open coast paddling,
this class will help you discover what's right for you. In the calm
protected waters of Stevens Creek Reservoir, you will learn about kayak
safety, equipment, kayak design, and paddling strokes. In addition you
will have the opportunity to try many types of kayaks. Come prepared for a
fun and educational experience!

Kayaking Skills and Safety
Start your kayaking adventures off
right by learning essential paddling and safety skills on calm water. This
comprehensive course will cover equipment, strokes, re-entries, bracing,
paddling technique, and wet exits. Come ready to get wet and have a good
time on this skill and confidence buidling class. After taking this class
you will be allowed to rent closed deck sea kayaks from Outback
Adventures. No experience necessary.

Coastal Kayaking Skills
Take the next step in developing your kayaking skills. In open water
conditions, you will practice the skills you have learned in the Level I
class under the guidence supervision of our experienced staff. This course
will also cover more advanced strokes and boat handling skills. Later in
the day we will practice open water reentries.

Half Moon Bay Dates: April 30
Introduction to the Surf Zone
A must for coastal touring, kayak surfing, and open water paddling. Gain
confidence and the skills necessary for entering and exiting the surf
zone. Learn launch and landing skills and how to handle breaking waves.
Topics covered include side surfing, bracing, wave dynamics, and surf zone
safety and etiquette. This class is so much fun, many choose to take it
more than once. If time and conditions allow, we will review open water
reentries.

Bolinas
Tide Rips
Have
a blast while practicing how to catch eddy currents and surf standing
waves. In this protected environment, you will also be introduced to
paddling in strong currents and working with range techniques. This class
takes place at the mouth of the beautiful Bolinas Lagoon in Marin County
and timed during the maximum tidal exchange. Prerequisite: Level II

Eskimo Roll Clinic
Learn
this essential sea kayaking and whitewater skill held at our Stevens Creek
Reservoir facility. Once you master this ultimate self rescue, your
confidence level will soar. All essential equipment will be provided and
includes one free kayak rental from Stevens Creek Reservoir for roll
practice at a later time.
