BOAT CHARTERSNewport Landing Sportfishing is the fisherman's choice for open party fishing trips whether they be local trips to the Huntington Flats and the Horseshoe Kelp, or freelance and overnight excursions to the outer banks, Catalina Island, or San Clemente Island. Our Coast Guard licensed skippers know the most productive fishing grounds and they get there fast, with modern craft designed for maximum fishing action, featuring state-of-the-art navigational and fishing electronics! Newport Landing Sportfishing offers several different open party trips daily. On the local scene, 1/2 Day trips, which run from 6:00am - 12:00pm and from 12:30-5:30pm, fish up and down the coast for bass, barracuda, halibut, and the occasional yellowtail or white seabass. The 3/4 Day trips depart daily at 7:00am. They fish Catalina Island or the coast from San Onofre to the Horseshoe Kelp...wherever the fish are biting! Anglers fishing on our open party overnight trips, fish Catalina, San Clemente, and the outer banks exclusively. On these trips you could expect to catch yellowtail, white seabass, yellowfin and bluefin tuna, albacore, and of course, calico bass and rockfish.
AMIGO: Mike Thompson's Amigo runs both open party and charter trips throughout the year. It also runs overnight limited load trips to Catalina, San Clemente, and the outer banks. These trips focus on big game species, such as tuna, yellowtail, and white seabass. Mike is considered to be one of the most knowledgeable captains along our coast and his consistent catches of large quantities of big fish back this up. He has been an owner/operator of the Amigo for over 25 years and has more than 30 years experience fishing from Mexico to the Channel Islands.

ULTRA:  The
Ultra is Newport Landing's limited load open party and charter boat. The
Ultra, completely refurbished in November 2000, runs both 1/2 Day and 3/4
Day trips, as well as 1 Day and 2 Day trips. The Ultra has bunks for 8,
modern galley and absolutely state-of-the-art electronics, including a
color meter and a full scanning sonar. The Ultra's owner Brian Blair is
also known as being one of the hardest working Captains along the coast.
Ultra is a 50' charter fishing vessel built
by Delta Marine in
The Ultra features the latest in Marine
electronics which includes scanning sonar, satellite phone, G.P.S. plotter
and more! The Ultra can seat up to twelve passengers in the galley
in comfort as they will enjoy watching a movie on our LCD flat screen TV
with DVD and surround sound system, while traveling between fishing spots.
The Ultra has accommodations for up to 8 passengers in large comfortable
bunks, as well a shower for those multi-day trips! On deck, the
Ultra can carry thirty scoops of bait in two large tanks, and has plenty
of room for storing tackle and fishing rods. Below deck we have a one ton
fish hold to keep the days catch fresh!

Newport
Landing Sportfishing also offers open and private charters on a daily
basis. These trips give you the opportunity to fish on a boat with your
friends, co-workers, or meet new friends! The trips range in duration from
1/2 Day and 3/4 Day on the Nautilus and Patriot all the way to 2 Day trips
on the Amigo and Ultra. We also have a fleet of 6 pack boats for the
anglers who even want less competition from other anglers.
The
Patriot is Newport Landing's open party 3/4 Day boat. It offers general
admission trips daily from 7am-5pm. The Patriot offers fishing along
Southern California coastal areas including Newport, Laguna Beach, Long
Beach, Huntington Beach, and Dana Point. The Patriot also frequents Catalina
Island, which produces excellent Yellowtail and White Sea Bass fishing. In
the late Summer months when the Yellowfin Tuna are biting, you will find the
Patriot fishing Off Shore. You could expect to catch almost anything when
you are fishing aboard the Patriot.
The
Aggressor runs daily open party overnight trips. If you are the type
of angler that likes to go after the big game, the aggressor is the boat for
you. The Aggressor will be taking lucky anglers on island freelance
trips in search of yellowtail and white sea bass or offshore for albacore,
bluefin tuna and dorado. And remember, Newport Landing always puts
fewer passengers on open party trips for less money than anywhere else in
Southern California.
The
Nautilus is Newport Landing Sportfishing's open party 1/2 day boat. The
Nautilus runs up to three general admission 1/2 day trips daily. These trips
are perfect for the angler that cannot break away for an all day trip. The
Nautilus fishes along the Southern California coast line. Hot spots for the
1/2 day trips are Newport, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, and sometimes
Dana Point, and Long Beach. The 1/2 day trips specialize in bass, barracuda,
rock fish, and halibut. You will also have a good chance at catching a
yellowtail or a white sea bass on the Nautilus.
