Take in the beauty of the shore birds in flight as you wind
your way along lush, plant-covered sand dunes. In a short time you
find yourself walking & trotting (or even galloping) your horse along
the shoreline located at the center of Monterey Bay. Most Days offer
stunning views from Santa Cruz to Monterey.
All rides are individually tailored to the ability of
riders. From a leisurely walk to a brisk canter, we try to make this
ride something to remember for a lifetime.
We can accommodate groups as small as 2 riders at a
time. (If you are single, we can add you to an existing ride).
Reservations are required to ride. Please call a day or so in advance
to book your ride. For large groups, allow more notice if possible.
At Monterey Bay Equestrian
Center, the horses are brought to the beach on a Reservation-Only Basis, so
you can be sure to have a truly personalized ride on a Well Taken Care of
Horse.
Note: Because we don't
have a rigid schedule of rides, the horses are saddled and brought to you at
your convenience!

HANDY.
HORSE DRAWN CARRIAGES
We offer a very unique
service to the central coast, our horse-drawn carriage service. We have a
number of carriages from which to choose. From a surrey that can carry 2
guests to a wagonnette that carries up to 12 guests. The very well
maintained vehicles and horses, highly polished harnesses and
turn-of-the-century tuxedos give your event a true touch of class. All of
our carriages are clean & suitable transportation for even the most
well-dressed of guests. The horses are very friendly and are used to curious

OUR
CARRIAGE LIST INCLUDES:
| THE IVORY
SURREY This 1890's carriage is an ivory-colored (antique
white) 2-seat surrey with a fringe on top. It is pulled by two
horses and can carry two guests. Cost:

VICTORIA This 1870's carriage is black and maroon, with
patent leather fenders and a convertible top. It carries two
guests and is pulled by two horses. This is our most elegant
carriage and it works well for formal events and weddings.

| THE WAGONNETTE
This vehicle is maroon and black
with padded bench seating. This carriage is designed for the
transportation of larger parties. It can carry 12 adult guests. It
can be used for corporate or civic events as well as unique
transportation for guests of private parties, family reunions, and
catered events.

We also have a small, rubber-tired hayride wagon that is best suited for
children's events.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING
Prices quoted are for up to 1 1/2 hours of service. Overtime, if
needed, is billed in one hour increments @ $100/hour. Events requiring use
'after hours' will be quoted on an individual basis.
Quoted prices are for the Salinas, Monterey Peninsula, Carmel/Carmel
Valley, Watsonville and San Juan Bautista areas. We travel so ask for a
quote for your area.
The driver and assistants attire will be 1890's formal dress, unless
otherwise requested. We can also dress in Western attire: cowboy hats,
jeans and boots. Tell us what you have in mind.
Payment may be made by cash, check or credit card. We accept Visa,
MasterCard, and American Express cards. Payment may be made through hotel,
resort or wedding planner master accounts when available.
A deposit of $200 is required to reserve your date, with the balance to
be paid one week prior to the event. Deposits are non-refundable
within 90 days of the event. (except for rainouts).

We also have white wedding birds and saddle horses for hire. Tell us

PONY PARTIES AND PONY WHEELS
We at the Monterey Bay Equestrian Center
take pride in offering to you our ponies. They are available for private and
corporate parties, church and school fundraisers and civic events. The
ponies are well taken care of and are accustomed to being around the hustle
and bustle of parties and festivals.
PRIVATE
PARTIES
For private parties, one of our
wonderful ponies is brought to your home, a park or other suitable place,
saddled up and led around for the children by one of our staff. The cost for
this service is as follows:

FESTIVALS
OR COMMERCIAL AND CORPORATE EVENTS
For larger
events, we have a sweep, or pony wheel. This consists of a turn
style, perimeter fence and six to eight ponies. We can set up in one of two
configurations, one takes up approximately a 21' diameter circle and holds 6
ponies. The other is a 33' diameter, covered turn style with fence enclosure
and holds 8 ponies. Prices are set on an individual basis. Please call for a
quote.
PETTING ZOOS
One of the most memorable times of a child's life is the
first time they went to a zoo. Now you can bring that zoo to your home for a
private party, school or company event. We have a wonderful bunch of
animals that just love kids. The way it works is, we come to your home (or
other special place), set up a fenced enclosure and fill it with animals.
One or two of our staff will stay to show the children how to pet and hold
the animals. We bring a variety of animals for the kids to enjoy, including;
pigmy goats, rabbits, ducks, and chickens (when available, we will bring
baby chicks). We also provide small kid sized chairs so they can set a bunny
on their lap.

LESSONS
Are you finally going to get over that fear of horses? Are
you trying to improve your horseback riding ability? Or, are you simply
looking for something to do on your day off? Our lessons may just do the
trick. We offer private and group lessons tailored to your ability. We have
lessons in both English and western disciplines, trail, jumping and even
team penning and working cowhorse (seasonal).
2006-2007 Prices are as follows:
Day Camps
During the summer, we offer a great way for your child (7-14
yrs.) to spend the day. Enroll him or her in one of our camps for a week
filled with fun. The camps normally run Mon-Fri from 9:00-2:00. Some camps
will be 4-day camps, see schedule below. Each day the child takes their
horse out, learns to brush and clean it, then saddle it up for a ride. The
camps are set up so the older, or more experienced ones, can advance as well
as the little ones.
The entire time is spent with the horses and each child will
have their own horse for the week. During the camp the children will learn
grooming, saddling, safety, and horsemanship. They will learn western
pleasure, how to barrel race, go through an obstacle course trail riding and
much more. The week ends with a horse show in which the children show off
what they have learned. One of the events of the show is a costume class,
where they dress themselves and their horse in a home made costume of their
choice. Many parents will stay on Friday to help and to watch or videotape
the show. Everyone wins ribbons (nice ones) and the high point winner
receives a trophy!
