We're located in beautiful South Lake Tahoe, California at an altitude of 6225 ft. Lake Tahoe is the 3rd  deepest lake in the continental US and the 8th deepest in the world. With its beaches rimmed by 10,000  ft snow-clad mountain peaks and its size at 22 miles by 10 miles and with its world reknown clarity depth  at over 80 ft, it's no wonder why Mark Twain wrote about Lake Tahoe, "As it lay there with the shadows  of the mountains brilliantly photographed upon its still surface I thought it must surely be the  fairest picture the whole earth affords."

This big blue world is located 1 hour south of Reno/Tahoe International Airport and 2 hours east on hwy  50 from Sacramento International Airport. It's the ideal location to start your backpacking trip with us and  a sightseeing destination worth visiting.

Our trips are geared to accomplish three objectives:

  • Impart confident, competent, responsible backpacking skills.
  • Raise level of individual environmental awareness.
  • Provide a rewarding  back-packing experience, promoting both mental and physical well being.
